Real Estate and Volunteering In Your Community

Image
https://www.killeenisd.org/frontPageV3/comp/article.cfm?navBarID=183209 Being a Realtor is not just about helping clients buy or sell real estate, it is also good to go out and be part of the community.  I for one learn so much every time my husband and I visit the elementary schools.  Children are so much fun and are so curious with lots of questions. Another great place to visit is the senior citizen center they love to talk and have so much to tell us about our community.  So if your in real estate go and join a non profit organization or volunteer at a near by homeless shelter and see how great is your community.   To learn more about our visit to Clifton Elementary School click on the link.  By Laura Segarra - REALTOR EXIT Homevets Realty

Millennials Are Buying Homes Because of Their Dogs

Another Reason to buy a home A survey asked recent home buyers why they were buying their  first home  and their dog was the third most commonly cited reason, coming above children and marriage. Only more living space and the opportunity to build equity came above the furry companions. “Millennials have strong bonds with their dogs, so it makes sense that their furry family members are driving home-buying decisions,” said Dorinda Smith, SunTrust Mortgage CEO. “For those with dogs, renting can be more expensive and a hassle; home ownership takes some of the stress off by providing a better living situation.” The survey also found that 42% of millennials who had never bought a home said that their dog, or the desire to have one, would be a key factor in their decision to get on the property ladder. The other listings that do come out in the spring will represent increased competition to any seller. Do a greater number of homes actually come to the market in the spring as compared to the rest of the year? The  National Association of Realtors  (NAR) recently revealed the months in which most people listed their homes for sale in 2017. Here is a graphic showing the results: The three months in the second quarter of the year  (represented in red)  are consistently the most popular months for sellers to list their homes on the market. Last year, the number of homes available for sale in January was 1,680,000. That number spiked to 1,970,000 by...
